Maintenance

The Facilities Department of Muskegon Public Schools is directly responsible for the maintenance and operation of the 9 school facilities. This encompasses 100+ acres of land with 1 million+ square feet of building space to maintain.

The facilities include:
4 Elementary schools
1 Middle school
1 High School campus (Main building, Redmond Potter Gymnasium)
1 Alternative School
District Service Maintenance and Transportation Center

The athletic fields include:
Hackley Stadium
Wilson practice field
Middle School field
Middle School running track
Swimming pool at the High School

This department is part of the district operations staff that all together employs more than 90 people, consisting of maintenance, grounds, vehicle mechanics, transportation drivers and custodial staff.  We strive to maintain Muskegon Public Schools facilities at the highest standards, saving energy and operating dollars wherever possible.
